Fedworld. This site is operated by the National Technical Information Service (of the Department of Commerce). A central access point for U.S. government information on-line, it allows you to locate, order, and have government information delivered to you. It also contains information on federal employment opportunities and abstracts of recent government reports (from all agencies).

Federal Communications Commission. This home page provides access to the FCC's Daily Digest, policy agenda, agendas of open meetings, consumer information, and information about developments in the telecommunications industry.

The Central Intelligence Agency site provides insight on one of the least understood elements of the executive branch. The site contains declassified intelligence analysis along with unclassified publications, reports, speeches, and testimony presented before Congress.

DefenseLink. The on-line face of the Department of Defense, the largest cabinet level bureaucracy in the U.S. government.

Centers for Disease Control. Although CDC is the lead federal agency for protecting the health and safety of people, many people were unfamiliar with it before the anthrax scare in 2001. Since then, CDC has taken a high-profile role in the fight against bioterrorism.
