Understanding the Information in a Table

Consider Table 14.10.

  1. Name the variables in the table.
  2. Which is the independent variable?
  3. Which is the dependent variable?
  4. What are the values of the independent variable?
  5. What are the values of the dependent variable?
  6. Calculate the appropriate percentages in order to determine the effect of the independent variable on the dependent variable.
  7. Write a paragraph describing the information in the table; conclude with a hypothesis that reflects the relationship between the variables.
