Activity 10.1Constructing a Questionnaire
The objective of this activity is to develop a survey research instrument and to plan for the organization, management, and analysis of the data to be collected.
- Develop a questionnaire to test a number of hypotheses of interest to you. Your survey must include an introduction and at least sixteen (16) questions, including the following.
- At least two must be open ended.
- At least five must measure social background characteristics.
- At least six must measure attitudes and opinions.
- At least two methods must be used to measure opinions.
- At least one question must involve more than ten response categories.
- At least two questions must be a combination of a filter question and a contingency question.
- Develop a codebook to accompany your survey instrument. The codebook should include coding categories for your open-ended questions.
- State five hypotheses that relate variables measured by your questions.
