PC VERSION
STEP ONE: Print these instructions
- You will need to switch into your File Manager to install the Aufmann Algorithmic Computer Tutor. Print these instructions so you can refer to them later.
STEP TWO: Download the Computer Tutor
- Go to your File Manager. Create a directory (folder) in your File Manager C:\TUTOR.
- Download Computer Tutor now.
- When the Save dialog box appears, select "Save to Disk." In the window that appears, look for the directory C:\TUTOR you created previously and double click on that folder. Click "OK."
- The file colalgeb.exe will be copied to your desktop. You will see a "Saving Location" dialog box.
STEP THREE: Decompress Computer Tutor
- After the demo has been saved to your desktop, leave your browser and go to File Manager. In your File Manager, double click on the TUTOR folder you created in Step 1. Double click on the file colalgeb.exe.
- You will see the screen go blank and files will be inflated in DOS. At the completion of the inflation, your screen will automatically switch back to your File Manager.
- To show the inflated files, click on another folder other than TUTOR. Then double click back on the TUTOR folder. This action expands the self-extracting files. You should now see a long list of files in your TUTOR folder.
STEP FOUR: Run the installer
- Find the file atp.exe and double click on it. When the "Algorithmic Computer Tutor" screen launches, click OK. Fill in your name and ID. Then click OK.
- When the "Open Lesson" dialog box appears, highlight the filename catdemo.rep and click OK. The Algorithmic Tutor will be launched and you should select Chapter 3 "Functions and Graphs."
