Integration Guide for E-Learning Companion

The E-learning Companion makes a great supplement to Becoming a Master Student. E-learning Companion can assist students enrolled in any course that utilizes technology: courses with a web site, hybrid courses, distance learning classes and classes using course management systems (like WebCT or Blackboard).  Use this integration guide to help plan your syllabus, suggest readings for your students and assign activities. This guide highlights the chapter in Becoming a Master Student, Canadian 4th Edition, references specific articles in the text, and then recommends readings in E-learning Companion by identifying the chapter and the section title (i.e. Chapter 7: Study tips for online students).

Be sure to have your students access the E-learning Companion Web Site at http://studentsuccess.college.hmco.com.  Consider assigning your students the self-assessment on the web site as a starting point.  This assessment will help students measure their readiness to be successful in online course assignments and activities and help guide them on a path to develop necessary skills and habits for online success.  The direct URL for the assessment is http://college.hmco.com/collegesurvival/watkins/learning_companion/1e/students/self_assess.html.
