  1. Mundo Maya: This page is a good resource on the history and current situation of the mayas. It is run by the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. Scroll down to the section on Los mayas de hoy to learn more about the dialects of maya-quiché.

  2. Las lenguas aborígenes de América: Justo Fernández López has created a website that gives information on languages of the Americas and groups them into families. There are also several links to follow for more detailed information on this topic.

  3. Literatura Guatemalteca: This page is run by a Guatemalan university professor, Juan Carlos Escobedo Mendoza. The URL takes you to the main page on Guatemalan literature. Follow the links to information on Miguel Ángel Asturias. This website, which carries a UNESCO recommendation, is a wonderful resource for literature in Guatemala.

  4. El Poder de la Palabra: EPDLP is a website dedicated to Spanish-language literature, particularly poetry. It contains more than 2,000 literary excerpts and poems, as well as history, photos, and works of art. The URL takes you to the page on Miguel Ángel Asturias.

  5. Ciencias Humanas: This online Colombian magazine provides an article about the Popol Vuh. It gives some interesting background information about the document and places it into a historical context.

  6. Popol Vuh: This website contains text for the first two chapters of the Popol Vuh, which makes it interesting from a literary perspective. This is a good place to get an idea of the flavor and tone of the original document.

  7. Dariana: Run by Nicaraguan poet Yolanda Blanco, this website is a very complete resource for information on Rubén Darío, as well as other Nicaraguan poets. It includes many poems by the poets featured, as well as historical information and bibliographies of Darío.

  8. Bibliotecas Virtuales: This online library is supported by the Secretario de Estado de Educación Superior, Ciencia y Tecnología de la República Dominicana. The URL takes you to their page on Rubén Darío, which includes a brief biography and links to the text of a number of his poems.

  9. Nicaragua Online: This website features information about Nicaragua. The page on the footprints at Acahualinca gives a brief history of the prints as well as a photo.

  10. Guide of Nicaragua: Similar to Nicaragua Online, this guide provides information about interesting places to visit in Nicaragua. The page on the footprints includes a photo, some background on the prints, and some information on getting there.
