Instrumentos Musicales Andinos: Although this website is the personal site of a Chilean student, Samuel Velázquez Quezada, it is one of the best online sources for information about the entire group of Andean musical instruments. He includes photos, descriptions, and in some cases, the history, of a number of Andean instruments.

  3. Escambray: This article is from a newspaper from the Sancti Spíritis Province of Cuba. It offers a succinct description of the Itaipú dam, its history, and features of interest.

  4. Itaipú Binacional: Run by the Paraguayan government, this is one of several official government websites related to the Itaipú dam. It includes information on tourism, the history of the dam, and technical data related to its construction.

  5. Servicio de Apoyo Indígena: This website, run by the Servicio de Apoyo Indígena, is a good starting point for learning about modern-day guaraní culture in Paraguay. It includes information on the present-day situation as well as a historical overview of the past.

  6. University of Mainz: This personal website of Wolf Lustig at the University of Mainz is an amazing source for information on guaraní culture in Paraguay. It is accessible in four languages-German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Guaraní-and has a number of links to other useful sites.

  7. Titicaca al Mundo: Run by the Asociación Titicaca al Mundo, this website focuses on the Puno region of the lake and the aymara culture found there. It includes sections on dance, music, festivals, clothing, and traditions, among other topics.
