Step One: Gaining a basic understanding about the objectives of the government’s
approach to propaganda in World War II.
Using the resources below, complete the following tasks.
- Read Franklin D. Roosevelt’s January 6, 1941 speech to the US Congress
to assess the ways that he used his request for the lend-lease act to present
his argument for United States’ position in World War II. This argument is
best stated in the section on the Four Freedoms.
- Listen and re-read the section on the Four Freedoms.
- Make notes on your observations. (You might wish to use Document Analysis
Worksheet for this task.)
