Nisei

native-born American citizens who are the children of Japanese immigrants. Their name meaning "second generation," the Nisei along the Pacific Coast were harshly treated during World War II when thousands were evacuated from their homes in the Japanese-American internment following the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
