Do the websites for Andrew Gaub's essay (page 124) tell a story? Which site has a stronger narrative voice? Could it be further strengthened? How?
Choose two actual websites and analyze them for narrative voice. Do you agree with the authors of these articles about the need for narrative voice on websites? Why or why not?
- Writing with a Purpose stresses design as part of the writing process. Yet in professional publishing and website development, the tasks of writing the text and designing the document or site are often performed quite separately, by different people.
In this article, Michael Rock discusses the designer as author. Do you believe designers should have "some level of ownership over the message"? Why or why not? What do you think Jakob Nielsen would say?
