Web Design Activities Chapter 3: Drafting
- Use the lists and outlines created by Ellen Haack for her paper on taste to suggest one or more designs for a website. For example, what sort of site structure is suggested by the list on pages 56-57? (That is, what pages would you include in the site, and how would you link them together?) Using this list or the outline on page 58, create a website map, like this:

For each page, provide a page title and a brief description.
Would the structure change based on the formal outline on page 68? Create another website map based on that outline.
- Is a website structured like an essay? Compare the website map you made based on Ellen's formal outline to her final essay draft. How are they similar? How are they different?
- Would you use the same outlining and/or drafting techniques described in Chapter 3 to create a website? Why or why not? Are there other techniques you might use, when creating a website, in addition to or instead of the ones described in your textbook?
