Image Gallery Activities Chapter 6: Common Methods of Development
- For one or both of the pictures in the Image Gallery (p. 147), write a brief piece (one to three paragraphs) using one of the methods of development discussed in Chapter 6. For example, use narration to describe the image of the tree rings, or use process analysis in a paragraph inspired by the image of the houses. Write at least two pieces, using at least two different methods of development.
- Search the Web for a pair of photo essays, either: (1) one about natural history and one about urban history, or (2) one about an ecosystem and one about an urban environment. Evaluate the essays. Do they use similar or different methods of development? How do the images they use contribute to the method(s) of development for the essays as a whole?
