1. In what ways is a critical essay like a research paper? In what ways is it different? Write a paragraph or two in which you compare and contrast these two writing forms and the processes of writing them. Refer specifically to the writing processes and outcomes discussed in Chapters 12, 13, and 16.
   
   Chapter 16 discusses writing critical essays about works of literature, since this is what critical essay assignments in most writing classes focus on. Would you use the same writing process for a critical essay about a film? Explain why or why not in a paragraph.
