- In "Excerpts from a Painter's Studio Notes," (p. 250), Pam Smith says "I struggle with whether my images are complete or incomplete, not with what they may suggest." Write a paragraph responding to this statement in relation to your own writing. Do you struggle more with what your writing may suggest, or with whether it is complete or incomplete? What makes a painting complete? What makes a work of writing complete? Explain your answers.
