Name Your Target Audience
List at least three questions that they will want answered as they view your website

Name your relationship to your target audience
  • sales assistant/customer-help find and give advice
  • teacher/student—lay out plan/goal and assist in achieving the goal
  • billboard/reader—display information in brief form
    so reader can decide how to act
  • doctor/patient—prescribe a course of action which the patient follows


Create a mission statement for your site.
Include these items:
audience
relationship
content
goal

Create a navigation scheme that includes
Include
number of levels in the hierarchy
degree of freedom grant to viewer


Create a template
  • What color is the background?
  • What font will you use?
  • What color is the text font?
  • What size and font are the headings?
  • Where will you place any visuals?
  • How will you present the text?
  • Where will you place any links to other sections of the site?


Create a content list, both textual and visual
Text items include

  • introductions
  • types of information (for instance, phone numbers, addresses, menus, prices, evaluations)
Visual items include
  • photographs
  • video clips
  • maps
