Activity 1: Preparing a Bibliography

Imagine you have cited the following sources in a research paper. Make three bibliographies for the paper: one in MLA style, one in APA style, and one using a numbered-citation method.

1. A book by Elaine Scarry called On Beauty and Being Just, published by Princeton University Press of Princeton, New Jersey in 1999.
2. A book of poetry called The Poems of Lady Mary Wroth, written by Mary Wroth, edited by Josephine A. Roberts, and published by the Louisiana State University Press of Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1983.
3. An article called "The Laugh of the Medusa" by Helene Cixous and translated by Keith Cohen and Paula Cohen, printed in a journal called Signs: Journal of Women in Culture and Society, volume #1, issue #4, dated Summer 1976. The article begins on page 275 and ends on 293.
4. An article by Christine Temin called "DeCordova Sculptor Brings Cold Steel to a Voluptuous Life," in the Boston Globe newspaper on September 12, 2001, on page 5 of Section G.
5. An article called "The Other Beauty Myth," which you found on a Web site called Salon.com. The article was written by Daniel Kunitz and published on January 12, 2000. The Web site URL is www.salon.com. The article URL is www.salon.com/ent/feature/2000/01/10/beauty/index.html.
6. Lyrics to a song called "I Lost It," written by Lucinda Williams for her CD Car Wheels on a Gravel Road, released on the Mercury label in 1998.
