  Example Someone cleans the windows every month.
  Description Doer = subject / verb / receiver = direct object of verb

Passive

The verb phrase of a passive voice sentence consists of a form of the verb be + a past participle.

  Example The windows are cleaned (by someone) every month.
  Description Receiver as subject / verb = be + past participle / doer omitted or used after by

Auxiliaries such as would, can, could, should, may, might, and must can also replace will when the meaning demands it:

  Examples The windows might be cleaned next month.

The windows should have been cleaned yesterday.
