 | Timeline
Our three-column timeline places literary publications in historical context. The first column
indicates the publication of literary works, as well as birth and death dates for the authors. Icons next to the titles of works connect to cultural objects (visual, audio, and text files) on the internet that are useful to readers of particular texts. The second column lists historical events from the Colonial period to the present. The final column lists major cultural events. The timeline can be
used inside the classroom, or by individuals working on their own.
To jump to a date on the timeline, enter a date between 1530 and 2000 and click Go.
A note to Netscape 6.0 users: The timeline search function will open results in a new window. For all other browsers, additional windows are not required.
