Select a paper you have written for this class, and exchange a copy of the paper with a classmate. As you read one another's papers, write your comments or reactions in the margins. Put the reading away for a few days. Return to the selection, rereading both the piece and your comments. To what extent do you think your marginalia have changed your experience of reading the piece? Write a short essay that considers to what degree you would be violating modern ideas of intellectual property if you published or otherwise distributed your annotated reading. Would publishing your annotated version count as "authorship"?
