  1. Interview a teacher about his/her use of reinforcement and punishment in the classroom. Which approach, reinforcement or punishment, does the teacher prefer? How does the teacher know what reinforcement/punishment to use with students? How did the teacher learn this? What reinforcers are most effective for the students in general?

  2. Interview a teacher about his/her use of shaping in the classroom. For what types of activities and/or behaviors does the teacher use shaping? Ask the teacher to describe his/her implementation of shaping (e.g., task analysis, etc.). How well does this strategy work for the teacher? What are the advantages of using shaping as an instructional strategy? What are the drawbacks of using shaping as an instructional strategy?
