Site Observations Chapter 1: Applying Psychology To Teaching
- Create a list of topics from the content of your textbook. Interview a teacher about these topics. Which of these topics does the teacher believe are important for success in the classroom? Which of these topics does the teacher believe are not important for success in the classroom? How does the teacher keep him/herself informed about these various topics and their changes?
- During your school observation, record instances when you saw the teacher engage in some type of reflection. Then talk to the teacher and find out how much he/she uses reflection as a way to gauge his/her success in the classroom. If the teacher uses reflection regularly, find out his/her strategies for reflection. When does the teacher do his/her reflection and for how long? What does the teacher do during his/her reflection time and is anyone else involved?
