JamC@M: An Inexpensive Digital Camera
"Integrating Technology for Meaningful Learning" places a great deal of emphasis on student generated multimedia projects. We feel the ability to collect images and then integrate these images in various "products" provides opportunities for learning that can be applied in nearly any classroom.
Our existing discussion of how to "collect" such images includes:
- scanning photographs
- videocapture from videotape
- video cameras
We have recently had the opportunity to experiment with a new digital camera - the JAMC@M (
KidBoard). The thing that is most startling about this product is the price - somewhere in the $85-$90 range. This includes the cable necessary to connect the camera to your computer and the software for transferring the images. This camera is compatible with Windows machines and newer Macs using the USB interface. If what we have to say about this camera interests you, please go to the KidBoard web site and get the official details.
