Disneyland and Consumer Surplus

The Chapter focuses on consumer choice. In the chapter we discussed consumer surplus and used Disneyland's pricing scheme as an illustration of how businesses try to collect more of the surplus. Use the internet to examine Disney's policies in more detail. Above is Disney's Disneyland site; find the ticketing information. Use the information presented to answer the following questions.

Questions
  1. What is the admission price for Disneyland? (Disney calls them passports)
  2. Why would the admission prices differ?
  3. Draw a demand curve representing the demand for Disneyland. Illustrate whether the current admission price collects the entire consumer surplus to the Disney company.
  4. Compare a policy of pricing to gather the consumer surplus and having a price on each ride and entertainment item in Disneyland.
  5. If you can find information on the other Disney parks, compare their prices to Disneyland. Are they the same? Why or why not?
