Sentence Combining

Use a coordinating conjunction or a conjunctive adverb to combine the following sentences to form a compound sentence. If necessary, make any additional changes to the sentences as well. 1. I can replace the vase. I cannot replace its sentimental value.




2. Apply another layer of varnish. Buff the floor to get a shine.




3. I did not pay my cable bill. I can no longer afford the service.




4. I took the permit test. I still need to take the road test.




5. This plant needs ample water. It will wither and die.




6. I did not order coffee. I did not order tea.




7. The gas tank was empty. A gas station was nearby.




8. Ed washed his car. He vacuumed and polished the interior.




9. The weather was cold and rainy. They decided not to go camping.




10. I asked him to stop at the store. He has a short memory.




11. She feared the worst. Her father had been very ill.
