Job analysis is a systematic procedure for studying jobs to determine their various elements and requirements. Consider the position of secretary, for example. In a large corporation, there may be fifty different kinds of secretarial positions. They may all be called "secretary," but each may be different from the others in the activities to be performed, the level of proficiency required for each activity, and the particular set of qualifications that the position demands. These are the things that job analysis focuses on.
