 | Additional Exercises Chapter 1: The Writing Process
Freewriting Freewriting is a form of brainstorming in which you write a steady stream of sentences that relate to a specific topic. Unlike paragraph writing, in freewriting you may switch from one idea to another. As soon as a new idea pops into your head, write it in your freewriting.
For each of the three topics below, practice freewriting for five minutes. Type your work in the text box. At this point, do not worry about spelling, punctuation, or paragraph structure. Strive to get as many ideas on paper as possible.
If you run out of ideas, continue to type the last word until a new idea pops into your head.
After you complete this exercise, click on Email to email your work to your instructor, or click on Print to print a copy of your work.
