How to Use the Tutorials

The purpose of this portion of this web site is to provide you with tutorials for some of the most common tasks used in online learning. It provides guidelines on how to work with both Windows and Macintosh computers, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat PDF, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Blackboard and WebCT. It also provides a tutorial on how to trouble shoot problems that might occur.

The tutorials do not cover every aspect of each of these areas, but they address the most commonly used functions in online learning. Our hope is that you will use these tutorials as you are working on your computer and have them available at almost any time.

The tutorials have been designed using step-by-step instructions along with pictures similar to what you will see on your computer. The tutorials were designed using the most common versions of software. However, software versions change frequently. Therefore, your version of the software may be different than the one's pictured in the tutorials. If this is the case, don't fret, in most cases the tutorials will still provide you with the needed guidance to help you out.
