Thank you for expressing interest in hosting a Symposium for Student Success on your campus!
Houghton Mifflin's College Survival Training Staff
, is delighted to consult with you and design an educational event that will exceed your expectations. The details of date and objectives are traditionally arranged by a representative of the campus and our trainer. We ask that you consider a first and second choice of date, and give us ample advance notice, so we may have flexibility in granting your request.
The event will focus on critical issues of Higher Education
with special focus on Student Retention, Performance, Student Success Course Design and Teaching Effectiveness. The audience may consist of Administrative Council members, Deans, Division or Department Chairs, Professors of all disciplines, Academic and Personal Advisors, Student Success or First Year Course Instructors, Peer Leaders or any combination of these professionals and para-professionals.
Our Trainer will work in collaboration with the campus-designated coordinator of the event to create an invigorating agenda
. The elements of the instructional time will model effective group process and adult learning strategies, while addressing the specific issues of your students, staff and institutional culture. For a regional professional development event, that could include several colleges and universities, the agenda could reflect the broader issues of thoughtful teaching and enhanced learning strategies, which enhance student persistence and performance.
