Additional Exercise for Review
Living in a diverse nation, we must increase our awareness of the
many contributions minorities have made to American culture. Identify
a minority person in each of the following fields who has achieved
recognition and success. What are his or her contributions to the
field?
Use your library or the internet as a resource. Ask a librarian
to help you find the appropriate index or other source that contains
the information you need. Or go to the Academy of Achievement at
www.achievement.org for a listing of
diverse high-achieving people in many fields. The site contains
a photograph,
biographical sketch, and an interview for each person listed.
Submit your findings to your professor in an e-mail message or hand in the completed assignment in class.
