Chapter 11:
Group Dynamics
- Given the widespread adoption of the Internet, can a virtual group (i.e.,
one whose members interact electronically) be a group in the same way that
a traditional face-to-face group can? Why or why not?
- Use a search engine to find information about each of the types of groups
identified in the chapter. Can you locate information about other types of
groups?
- In what ways might electronic interaction impact the stages of group development
discussed in the chapter?
- Describe the roles that the Internet and email might play in conflict. That
is, in what ways might new forms of communication technologies both increase and decrease conflict in
organizations?
