Chapter 10 provides a discussion and analysis of the short-run decisions managers face. It discusses the role of cost information in short-run decisions. The management cycle is used to identify relevant information in short-run decision analysis. The chapter continues with an examination of decision analysis in a manufacturing organization facing outsourcing decisions, special order decisions, segment profitability decisions, product mix decisions in an environment of constrained or limited resources, and sell or process-further decisions. The chapter concludes with an application of these five types of decisions to service or nonmanufacturing organizations.
